Personal Statement

I'm a three sport athlete. I play Basketball, Softball and Soccer.  Basketball is my favorite. I've been playing all sports since I was 5 at the youth programs in my school.  I've been infatuated with sports ever since I can remember. I always had a ball in my hand.  It never mattered what size or kind, just a ball. My grandparents on both sides and an aunt on my father's side were athletes as well. All of them going very far in their careers in high school and beyond.  I guess you could say that my parents are who influenced me the most to do the best I can at everything I do.  Our school district is small, in fact only 68 in my graduating class.  I've had to overcome a few obstacles to get where I am.  There are quite a few good athletes in my school, you could even say some of them have the upper hand with landing starting spots on a team and play time because of the affiliations to the district.  I have always had to push myself a thousand times harder to earn the spots I wanted.  Encompassed with that was all of my coaches through the years knew this,  saw my potential, and had zero qualms about being tougher on me as an athlete.  I fully respect those coaches and thank them for that,  and I think that it has made me a more mature and competitive person.  I have learned long ago that it takes 10 hands to make a basket, and you must depend on your team.  I'm probably one of the most selfless players I know.  Don't get me wrong, I like to score just like everyone else, but the overall result is I'm more about the win, and I will work harder and do whatever it takes to see that through!! I'm a high honor roll student, and have been all through high school.  I've come to realize that sports can only take you so far in life.  Its truly about the academics.  Education is key! You know the old saying "knowledge is power?"  No truer words have been spoken.  I'm looking for a strong program that will fit me both athletically as well as academically.  I believe I not only have talent to compete for a college team, but also the drive, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
