Jhalya Vaught '19 Recruiting Profile

I am an amibitious student athlete from Harlem which is located in New York , NY.  Working as a team to win and having a great season is my goal when it comes to basketball. My academics also show how much of a committed person I am when it comes to being a student athlete.  I have been playing basketball since my freshman year of high school . I started off as a sixth man and by the middle of my season in freshman year I worked my way to being the starting shooting guard , and currently I am still a starter .Coming from a small charter school, named Harlem Village Academy High School , I’ve had to put in a lot of work to be the player that I have become while also challenging myself academically to get the education that I need to be successful in life. Self taught , I learn new things about the game everyday and my coaches love me because I am a fast learner . As a teammate I tend to be the energetic one who brings positivity and support to my teammates on and off the court .’If you consider me for your team , you won’t regret it !
