Personal Statement

hello, my name is Hawa Diallo. I am a young student athletic that loves to play basketball. My goals for my first year in high school is to become a straight A student. My other goal is to become even better at basketball. I played two years of basketball for my middle school named unity preparatory charter school of Brooklyn. First year we played we was horrible. Second year we played we only lost one game out of 15 or more games. After that we went to the Brooklyn championship where we lost by one point but i really admire my team.  I am a person who takes education seriously such as I take basketball seriously .You can not be a scholar athletic if you don't do your work in the classroom and don't behave.  Basketball is 90% mental and 10% skilled. I am a A and B student but every year I strive to be a all A student. I want to go top a good college and get know for being a good scholar athletic on and of the court. I want to help my family and I want to succeed.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsHello my name is Hawa Diallo. I have played so many sports for my middle school Unity Prepatory charter school of brooklyn. When I was in 6 grade we had a basketball team that was not in the league. When I entered 7th grade I talked Mr Coleman which is the director in sports to making a girls and boys basketball team. We made one there were so many girls that was intersted in playing basketball, he brought us a coach name coach Alston. We had a good and bad season but I knew me and my teammates could have done better, I realized that my leadership was good and my support to my teammates was good. I remebered that I couldnt lay up with my left hand I would tell my self you can do it. I was the shortest person on my team. I was scared to go lay up under big girls that were taller than me. I remeber it was the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quater and as I was shooting the ball I jumped and landed on my ankles and I twisted it, yea I was crying but I still tried to get up while the ref didn't
