At the age of four, I picked up a basketball for the first time; my father put it in my hands. Since that day, I have loved and played the game of basketball. The reason why I play basketball is to show that women and young women anywhere can do anything that they desire to do. However, it requires hard work, perseverance, and commitment to get what we want. I get tired of hearing when I play ball with the boys, SHE’S A GIRL! I want to be the one who can take the aggressiveness that the boys play with and put it to my own game and show that I’m not just any girl, I’m THE girl. I'm a promoter on any team that I am on for women encouraging each other and I believe basketball is a great way to do that because of all the doubters that we have to face as women in sports. We are strong!
I am a team player, no doubt about that. I am a point guard with great passing abilities and a pretty good rebounder even with my height. I pride myself on driving to the basket and setting up other players, so they can contribute to the game as well. My other position is a shooting guard, but I also love contact when I go into the paint and draw fouls. If I see that my team is down, I tell them as long as we play hard and do our best, that's all we can do and be hopeful we can win the game. I am a dedicated player. Even when my body is tired, I push for greatness. I always say that hard work beats talent any day.
I am open to play at any level. As long as I get to play the game I love, I will play anywhere that gives me a scholarship or feels like the right place for me. I would love to have a great coach that sees my potential and pushes me hard to bring skills out of me without tearing me down as person and player. I want a coach who is dedicated to coaching, not a coach trying to be a friend.
