Personal Statement
I am a 5' 10" rising senior and a 2-sport varsity athlete at Jordan-Matthews High School. I was the sixth man off the bench my freshman year. As a sophomore, I was a starter and named to the All-Conference Team. My team improved from a 6-17 record my freshman year to a 19-7 record my sophomore year. We finished the season as Conference Champions and made it to the third round of the 2A state playoffs. After an injury that sidelined me for the first half of the season this year, I was able to return to the starting lineup and was selected to the All-Conference Team for a second straight year. I am listed as a small forward and pride myself not only on my work in the post but also my ability to shoot from the perimeter. I work hard on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. My aspirations for not only basketball but for life are to go as far as possible and push myself to the best of my ability! I am willing to accept the challenge of working hard to play at the next level and to succeed both on the court and in the classroom. I love being a team player and pushing not only myself but my teammates as well. I am currently number seven in a class of 175 with a 3.8 unweighted GPA and a 4.5 weighted GPA. I am interested in a career in sports medicine or sports communications. I am open to new things and blessed with any opportunity presented to me.
