Personal Statement
Ever since I could hold a ball, I've loved to play basketball. I have been playing for as long as I can remember, and have always had a huge passion for my sport. Through playing my sport, I have learned hard work, commitment, and teamwork. What I have learned playing basketball has also helped me off the court, helping to maintain a 4.0 GPA and be ranked number one in my class academically. Being a student-athlete, grades are very important. My goal for the rest of my high school career is to maintain my GPA and class position. My parents are very active in my life, always pushing me to give 110% to athletics and academics. I have a great support system because of my family, who are constantly helping me to reach my goal of playing college basketball.
Winning the District 16 Championship last year was the highlight of my high school career so far. We played a really close game and I had to learn how to stay calm and composed in a loud gym. By playing basketball, I have grown as a player and a person. Being a two-time captain and a four sport athlete has helped to show me how to always push myself to excel and be the best I can be in everything I do. Sports are a big part of my life and they are constantly shaping me into who I am today. I believe I have the leadership skills, work-ethic, and passion for the game that will make an impact on any college team.
