Personal Statement

**Update** I am a rising SOPHOMORE transfer looking for a good program and an even better educational experience!

I started playing competitive basketball later than most of my peers.  So not only did I have to work harder to catch up, I also had something to prove.  I had to show people that I was dedicated to this sport because it's one of the most important aspects of my life.  Ever since I started AAU in eighth grade I fell in love with the level of competition and drive that I hadn't seen anywhere before.  I am hoping to find this atmosphere at the collegiate level as well.

To this day basketball continues to teach me to grow and challenge myself.  It has been my escape from bad days and somewhere I'd gladly be on good ones too.  This sport has given me a sense of work ethic and pride.  It has shown me how to get to know someone in order to work well with them and how to be proud of the things I've accomplished.  I could go on all day, but all in all this game has made me who I am and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I know I would be blessed to be given the opportunity to continue playing the game I love at the next level.
