Ever since I can remember, I had a ball in my hand. I began playing team basketball when I was in first grade. Since I was always tall for my age, I was a natural post player. Since I have a 23" vertical jump and I'm still one of the tallest ones on my team, I played power forward my junior high career. I have been working on improving my ball-handling skills and my outside shot with the hopes of being a point guard or shooting guard my junior and senior year. In the offseason, I play on Team Ohio AAU 16/u with an amazing coach, Tuck Conner. This has given me the opportunity to play with and against some outstanding talent. I have worked with a couple of other girls with our varsity coach on ball handling and shooting. I have also worked with a high school boys coach to improve my skills as well. I am currently doing workouts with the assistant men's coach at the University of Rio Grande. Throughout my school years, I have always been involved in multiple sports. I've tried everything from soccer, to softball, to flag football, to volleyball, to track and field, but basketball is definitely my passion. I feel I am a well-rounded athlete. My 7th-grade year, I led in rebounds, blocks, and steals. I was also lead scorer that year for both 7th and 8th-grade girls. That year I also won the Raider Award for Outstanding Athlete on my team. My 8th-grade year, I led in points, blocks, and rebounds. My percentages were down a bit though due to being double-teamed most games. My Freshman year, I started varsity and I received the Defensive Player of the Year. My Sophomore year, I started varsity. I was the lead scorer for the year, and I received the Offensive Player of the Year Award. I was also awarded All TVC-Ohio, All-District 2nd Team, and A.P. All-District 3rd Team. My dream for as long as I can remember is to play at the collegiate level. I plan to continue dedicating myself not only to my sport but to my academics to ensure this happens.
