~~My name is Kaitlin Taylor, but my friends call me Katie. I am interested in playing basketball at the collegiate level. I am in the class of 2016 with a GPA of 3.8, I am 5'8 and am a two year varsity starter, and my position is Guard/Forward. I played five years of AAU basketball my position for AAU was guard. I played three years for the Dayton Lady Hoopstars. For my first two years of AAU ball, I played up a grade as a grade exception and worked my way up to starter during the first year of playing up. I was a key player and starter for the past five years in AAU basketball. Last summer, I got to attend by special invitation the Ohio Girl's Basketball Report Skills Camp and OGBR Top 64. I also attended by special invitation the Dabbelt Report's Shoot-Out/Combine. For the last 3 years I have played in the Beavercreek Fall Leagues. I have attended many camps and clinics to improve my basketball skills as an individual and team player. I currently have the privilege of training with former University of Cincinnati Women's basketball coach and 2012 Basketball Hall of Fame Inductee Coach Laurie Pirtle once a week. I was listed on the Dabbelt Reports Key 2016 players to watch list and selected to the Dabbelt Report's Miami valley Top 100 list 2013 and All Area Second Team for 2014. I am a player that plays any of the five positions, has tremendous ball handling skills, and am able to dribble and shoot left or right handed. I'm aggressive on defense, rebounding, blocking shots and have speed. Coaches have told me that "they love my work ethic and the fact that I am coachable." I work hard and can adjust to any situation. My current goal is to get better; I feel there is always room for improvement. In addition to making my goal to make my high school varsity squad as a starter my freshman year, I received the Southwestern Buckeye League All League Honorable Mention, and my fourth South Western Buckeye League Principle's Scholar Athlete Award. I was also recognized by my high school's School Board for these achievements in addition to my achievements in other sports. This year I once again received the Southwestern Buckeye League All League Honorable Mention. I lead the team in statistical categories such as steals was second on the team in rebounds, points, and blocks. I averaged 7.6 PPG, 5.55 RPG, 3.2 SPG and 1.1 BPG as a sophomore with my high school team. I was selected to attend the South Western Buckeye League Leadership Conference in March. My next goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level.
