Video of 2009-10 Season Highlights2009-10 Season Hi...

Personal Statement

Wow, where do I begin. My name is Megan and I attend Copley High School. I am 5'8 and 150 pounds. I ran a 12.5 in the 100 yard dash when I did track my sophomore year. I just recently finished my senior basetball season. Our record ended up being 13-9. We have not had our banquet yet so I have not recieved any awards yet. Last year however, I got the team's "best defense" award. I have been playing basketball since 4th grade. I have attended OGBR (Ohio Girls Basketball Report) which is a invitational only recruting camp for three years. I was also selected to play in Ohio's Top 64 Showcase for two years. I have played for different AAU teams outside of high school since 6th grade. All teams have given me the chance to play against great competition from out of state teams as well as in state teams that have helped improve my game. I have gone to a shooting and dribbling coach for three years. Both my coaches agree that I am the "hustler" and the "scrapper" of the team. I HATE to lose so I do everything I can to try not to. This year, as a senior, I have really learned what it meant to be a leader. All four of the seniors including myself were captains, but I felt that I went over and beyond of commiting myself to that title. I wanted the best for my team and always pushed them to do their best. My best assest is definatly my shot. I can shoot from anywhere pretty much. When my team needs a quick three, I'm the one who takes the shot. My defensive skills are also another good asset of mine. I have quick feet due to soccer. I decided that I wanted to continue my basketball career in college probably my freshman year. That was the year that I really just loved the game and didn't want to stop playing. I made a commitment to myself that I would do all I can and continue to work and every part of the game so that I could achieve my goal. Now that it is my senior year, I have decided to narrow down my school searching to D2 and D3 schools becuase I feel that I can contribute the most at those levels. My dream location though would be somewhere warm :). I don't want to go to a school with a absoulute huge student body, but not a very small one either. A happy-medium will work. I plan to major in athletic training or zoology so anywhere that offers those programs. Every upcoming freshman's dream is to play as a freshman at their college. I would love to play as a freshman because I love the game and want to help my team win as many games as possible. No one wants to be a bench warmer but will do whatever is necessary to help the team. I think my best memory this year was actually our first and last play off game. We played our rival school which we haven't beaten all year. We were down 18 at half time but with in three minutes in the third quarter, we tied it up. I had game high points of 15 that game. Even though we lost by three, I was very proud of my team for working so hard.
