Personal Statement

My name is Samantha Studer, I'm a 5'10 post player that is dedicated. I have been playing basketball for 9 years. I also play volleyball but basketball is it, its the sport I love. I was a team captain for the freshmen and junior varsity basketball teams. I try to stay after practice to get a little extra shooting in while the others are leaving. I also play fierce in your face defense. Throughout summer I play AAU, this gives me an opportunity to play under different coaching styles and helps me grow as a player. When I look at my future I definitely see myself finishing college but also see me playing sports. I want to go to a school with a good medical program. I tore my ACl at the beginning of the 2012-13 season. Since then I have had surgery and finished rehab on the knee. I'm now focused on knocking the rust off my shots and rebuilding endurance from my previous missed season. I'm looking forward to working with my team and to excel this year.

To Whom It May Concern, I have gotten the opportunity to coach Sam Studer this spring. She is a wonderful person that comes everyday to practice ready to play and get better. She works every day in practice to improve her game as well as the girls around her. When things get tough she digs a little deeper to find ways to get better. She is a leader on the floor as well as off. The rest of our team looks up to her, not only because of her play and effort, but as a person. She comes with a smile on her face before and after a game, but during it is all business with Sam. Sam’s work ethic is contagious. She works hard to make her team better. Sam has been enjoyable to coach and to just be around. I wish her all the luck in whatever she does because I know she will be successful and everyone around will be the same.
