Personal Statement
As a student athlete, I am dedicated to working hard both in the classroom and in the gym. Growing up in a basketball family, I spent a lot of time watching and attending local college and high school games. Since then, I have worked toward the goal of becoming a student athlete at the collegiate level. I have been a leader in the classroom and on my team by setting the example of being the hardest worker. I am always the first to practice and the last to leave. I continuously try to find places and areas to improve personally and work toward my goals daily.
I have learned my work ethic from my parents who have both worked full time jobs and sacrificed to support my goal and dream of playing college basketball. I continue to make the most of the opportunities I have to improve as a student athlete, with hopes of playing basketball at the collegiate level.
Through playing basketball, I have learned that anything is achievable through hard work and effort. One obstacle I faced was moving from West Virginia to Ohio my 8th grade year. Not knowing any of the local coaches or teammates, I was still able to play Varsity basketball my freshman year for a Division 1 high school team in Northeast Ohio. I have since moved back to Clarksburg, WV for my senior year and have decided to play basketball my senior as a late addition to Notre Dame High School here in Clarksburg, WV.
I believe what truly sets me apart from any other player is my work ethic, I will work harder and longer toward my goal than anyone else.
