Personal Statement
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
While I am still very young in my athletic career, my experiences with basketball have taught me several important life-lessons that will enable me to play at the Division 1 level, and ultimately become an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries. One of those lessons is hard work.
People watching my games see me score points and defend the ball. What they don’t see are the countless hours of intense preparation underlying each play. I have had hundreds of private lessons since beginning my career in the 4th grade. I have attended more than 25 basketball camps during that time. The showcase basketball tournaments I have competed in include 7 states and span thousands and thousands of miles. I will not guess at the hours spent working on my own outside at my house. These experiences have taught me to not only expect hard work, but to embrace it. I know my success at the next level, and beyond, is only possible if I continue to push myself towards my goal. I am committed to working hard to ensure that I make it happen.
