Personal Statement
I am a 5’2 Point Guard at Dakota Valley High school ,who will graduate in 2024, with goals and aspirations to be the best player I can be on the court and in the classroom. I have played the game of basketball for as long as I can remember and have certainly created a special bond with the game itself and for that reason I would want nothing more than to accomplish and pursue my dream of playing basketball at the collegiate level.
I have played AAU ball for the last 5 years with 3 outstanding programs who have helped me become the player I am today. As an 8th grader I had earned the opportunity to step on the court and play with the Varsity basketball team which showed me the ins and outs of high school basketball and improving my game amongst much older and bigger competition. Even though I am 5’2, do not let my size fool you, I am a hard-worker on and off the court, and determinated to reach my goals at all costs.
Not only am I hard working and determinated, I am also an all around athlete! Along with basketball, I have lettered and earned a starting position as a 7th and 8th grader for our Highschool Varsity Soccer team, I have played travel/school softball for as long as I could remember and lastly I had ran as a 7th Grader at Conference and Regional Meets with our high school Varsity Track Team, all of which I will continue to play throughout my high school years.
Academically, I have had a 4.0 throughout my whole educational career and will continue to strive to keep the tradition alive throughout my high school years. Truly my education is extremely important to me to help get me in the position I would hope to be in after my college years. I am still undecided on the field of study I would like to engage in. Extracurricular activities are also an extremely prominent aspect in my life for they have taught me how to lead with confidence and learning to help others ,which will benefit myself on the court, including being accepted in NJHS and being in Student Council for the last 4 years one of them being named Student Council President. I sincerely am a hard-worker in the classroom and on the court. My passion lies in basketball and I want to continue to play competitively in college.
