Mia Whitney '25 Recruiting Profile

I have been an overcomer/overachiever from birth. Born with a heart defect, that was later surgically repaired, it was a scary time for my parents. Originally, they were told I wouldn't be able to play team sports, so I started with gymnastics. Then the doctors changed their minds because of how well I progressed. Needless to say, I jumped into everything, finding my joy in basketball. I have no problem putting in the extra time both in my schoolwork and the gym, as well as film. I come from a smaller Christian school, so I do lean towards that environment. I see the floor and anticipate well, so I play point guard, but what I really love is to shoot the distance. I'm a hard worker on and off the court, and I love to problem solve.  Outside of school and sports, my time is enjoyed with family and volunteering with kids and animals.
