Personal Statement
My name is Mia Monroe, and I am in the class of 2021. I am a point guard for Colorado High School in Colorado City, Texas. I strive to the best I can be on and off the court. I have a strong work ethic, a winning mindset, and LOVE the game!!! If given this opportunity I will break my back to the best I can be. I made varsity as a freshman and played a vital role in our successful season earning District 5-3A Newcomer of the Year, All Big Country Newcomer of year, and All Area Newcomer of the Year. We won multiple championships and led my team to victory in the Regional semi-final game with 7 three-pointers. In my sophomore year, I averaged 17.7 pts/game shooting 47% from the arc earning the Offensive MVP award for my district, and All-Region 1st team. All Area & All Big Country 1st team. Last year as a Junior I averaged 19.3 pts a game and scored 108 pts in 4 games earning All-tournament honors. So far I have scored 1,330 point for my High School year from 9-11th grade! I have a unique court vision and an unselfish basketball player. If you take a look at my highlights you can see that I am a playmaker, love playing defensive that helps change outcomes of games and with my talent, I led my team with 4.4 steals a game! I can help our team get to the next level. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make our team better on and off the court. I am averaging a 4.0 GPA. You will not regret taking a chance on me. I strive to be the best in the classroom and on the court with the dream of playing for at the collegiate level. I have been playing travel basketball since 3rd grade and still am to this day!! This allowed me to have great instincts, fundamentals and court vision. If you are looking for a high IQ point guard, I assure you I will love to take your team to the next level!!
