If you told me 5 years ago that I would possibly be going to college to play basketball, I would have a hard time believing you. I have always grown up throughout junior high and my early high school years playing multiple different sports. I wanted to do it all and up until the summer of my freshmen year I was never really worried about what sport I wanted to play in college. In junior high I had played volleyball, basketball, track, as well as soccer. My freshman year I played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. During that summer I needed to focus on one sport and obviously I picked basketball (no matter which one I picked I was still going to run track). I picked basketball because I loved the constant adrenaline rush running up and down the court. It really came down to which sport I couldn't see myself without. I always have the same thought that runs through my head every time I step onto the court which is that I don't have to be the most talented player, the tallest stature, or even the fastest person, but I will not allow myself to be outworked by someone else. I also really believe in the team aspect of the sport.
Off of the court I am a top ranked student in my class and strive to maintain a high GPA. Whenever I'm not playing or practicing, I'm either doing homework or going to church. I strive to be different from everyone else and to do what's right no matter what because I don't crack under peer pressure. I am also going to be inducted into our school's National Honor Society and National Mathematics Honor Society.
