My coaches will tell you that I have the physical skills but what makes me stand out from the others is my basketball IQ and my work ethic. I received Defensive Player of the year in 2017, MVP in 2018, and the Coach's Award in 2019. Each time my coaches spoke of my focus, knowledge and ability on and off the court. One coach stated that I am the "glue that holds the team together" and another coach stated that what I do on the court is what "makes her team and teammates successful".
My educational goal is to earn my degree in graphic design and/or sport management. I would like to earn my undergrad and then go on to earn my masters while being a graduate assistant. Ultimately, my dream career would involve working with a team at the collegiate or professional level while integrating the experience I have with graphic design, sport management, and coaching.
I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and received all A's while taking Honors classes through middle school. I took four Pre-AP classes as a freshman and maintained a 4.0 GPA. I have been elected Class President every year since my freshman year. I scored a 1030 on the SAT the first time I took it at the end of my Freshman year. I just took the SAT for the second time and received an 1100.
I have been a dual sport athlete playing basketball and softball for ten years. I have played on club teams for both sports for five years. I also began playing tennis for the first time starting in seventh grade for my school team and went undefeated in both seventh and eighth grades.
I love softball and I have found a lot of success in the sport but I have recently decided to focus on basketball since that is my goal for the college level. I will still continue to play both basketball and softball for my school but I will only play club basketball.
