From attending practices, playing catch with the boys, and watching my dad from the stands, growing up the daughter of a coach has molded me into the young adult I am today. Growing up in this environment helped my drive for the game grow stronger and instilled in me a different kind of respect for the sports I play and the coaches I play for. It has helped me grow as a person and an athlete, and keep my focus of playing at the college level.
I am a 5’ 9” 150 pound multisport athlete. This year I will be a 4-year starter on the Varsity basketball team. Since by Freshman year, I have led my team in most statistical areas including; points scored, minutes played, assists, steals, and rebounds. Being a leader on my team has taught me the value of teamwork, commitment and sacrifice.
I have earned many individual awards throughout my high school sports career. Freshman year, I was selected as the 30-5A Newcomer of the Year and made the 3rd team All-South Texas basketball team. Sophomore year, I was selected District 30-5A Offensive MVP, 2nd team All-South Texas, and Region IV All-Region. Junior year, I repeated as the Offensive MVP of the district and made 1st team All-South Texas. I am proud of every single individual accomplishment over the years; however, the highlight of the last 3 years was making the Regional round of the UIL State Basketball playoffs my Sophomore year. I would love to make a deep run again this year!
Although basketball is my first love, I have also been a member of my Varsity softball and track team since Freshman year, earning 2nd team All-District 1st Base honors my Sophomore and Junior year. Even with the busy schedule I keep, I have received All-Academic honors all 3 years. I was inducted into the National Honor Society my Junior year and strive to maintain my top 10% status. I have volunteered as a basketball coach for the youth in my community since I was a Freshman.
I have set many goals for myself entering my Senior year of high school. My ultimate goal being to play college basketball at the highest level. I will continue to push myself to achieve this goal. I am hopeful I will find a program where I can make an immediate impact on a team. I know my work ethic and dedication will help me reach this goal.
