Dacey Simmons '19 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Dacey Simmons. I am a two year varsity starter, that is 5'5" and 135 lbs. As a freshman, I received "New Comer of the Year" in our district. I was also honored to receive, Freshman of the year, within my school. I also qualified to attend the area track meet in the open 200 and in the 100 and 400 relays. Our relay team advanced to regionals, where I was alternate due to injury. I started playing basketball in third grade for the Little Dribblers Program, I helped our team make it to the National Tournament four years in a row. It was in third grade that I fell in love with basketball and made a promise to myself to strive to be the best I can be, in hopes, to play college ball.  I have had to overcome many obstacles in my life, a couple of them, I could have chose to go down in defeat instead, I seen it as another mountain to climb to reach the top. Those obstacles taught me a lot about myself and help me realize that no matter what life throws at me,  I am a strong person and a fighter that will always give 110% to reach my goals.  While going through my obstacles, I learned to fully rely on God, and through him all things are possible.  Previously, I mentioned that I set goals at a young age.  These goals have not changed and at this time in my life, I am focusing on achieving them.  My high school goals are to be in the top 10 in my class and have, at least, a GPA of 3.5. I also want to continue to be a class officer.. This year, I was  inducted into National  Honor Society and voted Student Council Vice President. My goals for college are to play basketball (at any level), and to receive a degree in Physical Therapy , to help others  recover from injuries or sickness quickly and safely.
