Personal Statement

I’m a 2027 combo guard that prides myself on being a high character student-athlete. My parents are a huge influence in my life, raising me to be a strong, independent woman of God. I first got started in basketball when my step-dad introduced it to me and my sister when I was 8, and he’s been working with us ever since! I’ve learned so much through this great game; self-discipline, teamwork, overcoming adversity, mindset, and to be a servant leader. I’ve learned that I can do hard things, that my body can keep going when my mind doesn’t think I can. My first time training with our college athletes from my Player Development group, I ended up throwing up but I came back and finished the last hour of the workout. It taught me how to be mentally tough.

In addition to my athletic goals for high school and college, my biggest goals are in the classroom. I plan on graduating with honors and as part of the National Honor Society from high school. Part of choosing the right program to play for will be determining which college will best prepare me for life. My parents have always told me, the ball will stop bouncing at some point so I need to be prepared. Knowledge is power.

Most people don’t know but I am dyslexic. I am able to maintain high grades because of how hard I work in the classroom. Basketball has taught me how to have the right mindset to work through skills that are difficult for me. I’ve always been the underdog and I love proving people wrong! I’ve been told that I have a unique skill…the ability to suffer and keep going and keep showing up. You will not find a leader more willing to work than me and I look forward to making an impact on your program!!!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
