Personal Statement

3 sport athlete at Edinburg High School.  I started playing basketball at the age of 5, through the Edinburg Parks and Recreation department. At the age of 9 I started playing AAU basketball to prepare me for varsity level basketball.  My middle school years were quite successful.  I started every game on my middle school team and we were undefeated in our seasons.  We were back to back District Champions.  As I continue my journey in basketball I am currently a starter for my high school team.  I am primarily a small forward/guard, but have also played a 4 & 5 position.  I am a team player and pride myself on being a versatile player to meet the needs of my team.  My personal best thus far this season, at varsity level has been a game high of 30 pts.  I have athletic  ability as shown on my highlight video, but I feel the mental aspect of the game is where I excel.

I am a hard worker, and dedicated to my sport.  I like to lead by example and give my team encouragement.  I work hard to be a well rounded individual in both academics and athletics.  I have a driven personality, constantly striving to push myself beyond my limits.  I would like to play for a division I university, but at this point in time I am leaving my options open to division II and NAIA as well. My goal is to earn a degree in physical therapy or sports medicine.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
