Summer 2012Personal Statement
My name is Summer Sahd. I am a Senior at Navarro High School. I started playing select basketball my 5th grade summer, and I was on Varsity my Freshman year and named Area New Comer of the year. Basketball is more than just a game to me, it is a passion and the one thing I can do that makes me feel completely myself. My dream is to play college basketball near home, but location is of course secondary given the opportunity to fulfill my dream. Meanwhile, my educational goals are to become a teacher and coach or child psychologist. I'm a defensive specialist, and have led my district in steals and assists. One of my biggest achievements thus far was to make it to the FINAL FOUR in Austin at the state tournament this year (2014) and lead my team in scoring (19 points) during the semi finals. I am particularly proud of the coverage in San Antonio newspaper, see the attached link.
