Personal Statement
Although I play volleyball and have run track, basketball has always been the sport that I love to play. I have been playing basketball since the 1st grade. I love being able to utilize my ability to jump to out rebound my opponents on both ends of the court. My first year on varsity I lead the conference with 9.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
This past summer my family moved from the Chicago area to Texas. On my new team (as a junior) my coach has asked me to focus more on scoring for my team. With my new focus, I have still been able to average 15 rebounds per game in district play (with a game high 27 rebounds). I take great pride that I am able to keep improving my rebounding game. The ability to read shots on the offensive end of the floor and put myself in a good position to get rebounds is something I love to work at.
My goal is to keep working hard and improve my basketball game so that I can compete at a high level on a college team. I truly believe I can make an immediate positive impact on your team.
This year (as a Junior) I made All District 1st team and the all academic team.
I was able to get 17 double doubles in 26 games averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per game.
A unique ability that I have, that sets me apart from many players, is the ability to jump and touch the basketball rim.
