Many student athletes are born with this amazing blessed talent, I was not one of those athletes. Every drill, lay-up, jump shot I had to work at and develop as an athlete because although I could pick up on the drill or play and understand how it works and flows it took me a lot more time to be able to develop the athletic ability to work in the drills and do them correctly and perfect. This is where I can differentiate myself from other athletes, not only because I was not blessed with the talent they have but because I have a mindset they have never had, I want to be better and I will do anything I can to be better, usually good athletes know they are good and that gets to them, gives them a big head and a bad attitude, I want to be better, I might be good now but I want to be great and I will do anything to be great, this gives me a hardworking attitude and a determination that is on a totally different scale. I have had to build myself up as an athlete, all the time and work I put into basketball is because I want to be as good as the other athletes that were blessed with talent or even better. Even with academics I have had to work hard and overtime to get to the spot I have secured myself in, because I was not born with standing smarts, I was born with the attitude to succeed and work hard.
I love the game of basketball, every practice, workout and early mornings I love. Once I finish my last year in high school I do not want that to be my last time on the court at a competitive level, I will play anywhere at any level because that means that I get to play the sport I love and have dedicated my life to.
