Personal Statement

My name is Dyana Offutt. This year I play with an elite club team in San Antonio Texas called Shooting For Success. I also play and start on the varsity team for Ronald Reagan High School. My position is a combo between point guard and forwad. I love to win, and I will work my butt off to be the best player and teammate that I can be. I can play multiple positions, and I would make a great addition to any team. I can play with pretty much anybody.

I was born in Honolulu Hawaii and moved to Texas when my dad had joined the military in 2009. That was when I first started playing basketball in the 5th and 6th grade at a Ymca. When 7th grade hit I played for my middle school just for fun. Then I played 8th grade year and by my freshmen year in high school I just fell in love with the game. By my sophomore year, I knew I wanted to make it a career and a lifetime job.

I’ve learned a lot from basketball like communication and teamwork but most important of all I’ve learned to never give up. I love winning and I hate to lose. My dream is to one day play at the highest level and help my team win a championship. Along the way, I want to learn from some great coaches and meet some awesome teammates. I really love basketball and I always have tons of fun at practices and most of all games.

While my passion and love is the game of basketball and winning, I want to study health and different things in the medical field. I am also thinking about coaching and teaching. I like traveling with family and traveling to different states and cities with my club and high school basketball teams. My top goal is to be successful in school and basketball and get a chance to play and study at a great college in the future. I am a competitor and will do anything I can to help my team win.

We won our bracket and made it all the way to the semi-final game! I wasn't nervous by championship day! In my best game, I scored 13 points and we won!
