Kierstin Rink '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a 2024 6’2” PF/C/SF on Varsity for Prestonwood Christian Academy (varsity player since a freshman) and playing on Higher Goals Elite 17u S40.  I have been playing basketball since I was eight, and I can’t imagine my life without it.  It is such a big part of who I am. Although I have been playing a Stretch 4 and/or 5 all my basketball days, I am quite strong with my perimeter shots and even get in some 3’s.  I am blessed with a great support system from my family to many of my coaches, trainers, and skills coaches.  They are there to help me become the best I can be and push me further so that I can grow beyond my vision.  Their tough love and encouragement are greatly appreciated.                

The weight room is also an important part of basketball for me. Not only do I enjoy the strength and conditioning in the weight room, but I know it keeps me stronger when posting up and defending other 4/5’s on the court.  I have always pushed myself to be a valuable defensive player.  I can certainly play one-on-one defense, and I also intensely protect the paint.

As much as I love basketball and do well on the court, my grades are a top priority.  I know keeping my GPA high allows me to stay on the court now, which helps to fulfill my dreams of playing in college and beyond when moving into the workforce. 

My goal is continue playing basketball at a college where I can be beneficial to your program by applying and sharing my skills and talents with the team.  I am coachable, carry a positive and open attitude and a team leader/player.  My basketball team, coaches and trainers are family.   

I feel like one of my strongest traits is achieving goals that I have set for myself or that my coach sets for me. If a coach gives me a goal, I will reach it, and I will NOT give up until I do. It makes me a better basketball player, because we should never give up because EVERYTHING is possible if you work hard.
