Hi, my name is RueShunda. I am a full blooded Navajo coming from a small community names Montezuma Creek, UT. But I am not original from there, my home is Cahone Mesa. Right at the edge of the Navajo Nation reservation near the four corners. I began to play basketball when I was in 5th grade. Since then, I have been going. In my first year in high school, I began the year playing for JV as a starter. But after a coupe of games, my coaches noticed me and I got asked to play for Varsity. I built myself up by practicing moves. Originally I am a Power Forward, but then I had to change up. During my JV games, I would be a Center. But most of the time, I ended up being and All-Around player. Playing all positions. Half of the season went by, it became official that I was on Varsity. After two or three games, my coach saw how the JV team fell apart, so I went back to playing both Varsity and JV. Most of my teammates were family, we worked hard. And my favorite part was hyping each other. One of my goals is to stay on Varsity this upcoming season. But also I want to play college ball. I would pursue this because I got dreams, dreams to show my community and my people that we strong, and that we play sports and earn an education. I want to pursue my education majoring in the medical field, and making my way up to become an anesthetist.
