My name is Sarah Pollard. I am a junior at Weber High School in Ogden, Utah.
Basketball has been a part of my life since I can remember. After playing competitively through elementary and junior high, I started getting playing time at the JV and varsity levels as a freshman. My freshman year I was a starter on the JV team. As a sophomore, I began playing at the varsity level consistently. Now as a junior I am a varsity starter.
I am 5’5” tall and weigh 125 pounds. I play mostly point guard but also as a shooting guard. My teammates and opponents would describe me as aggressive and competitive. I take pride in my work ethic both on and off the court. In addition to working hard in practice, I enjoy lifting weights and cardio. I also like other sports and play varsity soccer.
I am well-rounded on the court and like to create opportunities for not only myself but also my teammates to score. I work hard at defense and my coach will often assign me to guard the most dangerous offensive player.
While I am interested in basketball, I’m also interested in academics. Right now, my interest is in health sciences. I am a hard-working student and currently have a 3.5 GPA. I consider myself a student first and an athlete second.
