Personal Statement
My first memory of basketball was when I was eight years old, at my first tournament, and we were playing against a twelve year old team. Those girls looked like giants to me. This is when I learned winning wasn't what it was all about. I met this adversity with perseverance and ingenuity. These skills have been used over and over in all areas of my life. It was these skills that helped me through my difficulties with reading, which required me to put in more time and effort then others. Over the years I have been part of teams that won championships as well as those that did not do as well. In both situations I came away knowing that I did my best and was able to learn from each competition. These skills will help me continue to succeed and add to any college program.
