Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball since I was six years old. Since the first time I touched a ball, I fell in love with the game. Even as a young child, I would constantly find myself outside day or night in the snow, rain, heat, etc. getting up some shots.
I am a very dedicated player and I'm usually the last one to leave the gym. I have strong ball handling skills, a high IQ for the game and I am good at "seeing" the court and making good assists. I consider myself an unselfish teammate and sometimes a little too unselfish. I'm working on it. I am also working on making my shot more consistent.
In the classroom, I keep a high GPA and strive for nothing less. I am a member of our YOVASO group (Youth of VA Speak Out) at school where we educate teens about the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. I volunteer with the local youth basketball camp as well.
I hope to attend a college where I can constantly push myself. I expect a lot of myself on the court and in the classroom. I want to go to a college that will help me with my goal - to strive for greatness!
