I have been playing basketball since I was in 3rd grade. I started out playing AAU with my mom and grandfather as coaches. I have always played with an older team and I feel that has helped me develop many skills faster than most because I was always playing against competition that was bigger, faster and stronger. I had to develop my skills quickly, as well as my basketball IQ, and have been working hard ever since. I play the game I love year round both with my high school team as well as AAU team. Not only am I at practices with my team but I also go to the gym at 5:30 in the morning to work on my shooting and driving skills before school. Since my first step on the court, I have aspired to play at the college level. I will work hard to be an asset to the team and a positive influence both on and off the court.
I am looking forward to my college years to explore my interests in sports medicine. I know I want to stay in the sports arena for the rest of my life, and am excited to see what that path for my life will develop into. I feel my work ethic both on and off the court, my leadership abilities I have developed in Young Life, and my determination will help me to be a successful student-athlete. I am the step-daughter of a retired Marine, so I know the importance of honor, respect and commitment. I am motivated to work hard at my goals both in the classroom and on the court as well as support my team to achieve our goals. I am open to all options and am excited to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.
