Hello,
My name is Leah Kestner and I'm currently a Freshman at Chilhowie High School in Chilhowie, VA. I am a three sport athlete, playing varsity in volleyball and basketball, and an aspiring varsity player this upcoming softball season. Of the three, basketball would have to definitely be my favorite and the sport I am most passionate about. I am a shooting guard/ point guard, but can also be small forward when needed. I am always willing to step up when my team needs it and will do whatever it takes for us to succeed together; whether that be playing a different position or simply giving advice to help a teammate or even myself. After playing Junior Varsity my 8th grade year and from countless AAU teams I've played on, I would say I was ready for my chance at a bigger stage playing Varsity basketball and to be able to start my role as a leader and role model in this basketball program, and I hope to be able to carry that on to college athletics.
Although sports are very important to me, academics will always come first. I take pride in trying to excel in the classroom as well as on the court. My work ethic and willingness to participate are very important to me, so being able to attend a school with not only a basketball program to push me but an overall exceptional academic program is my top priority.
I look forward to furthering my basketball career at the next level.
