Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball for as long as I can remember. I started playing AAU when I was 10 years old. I hope to play basketball in college with a scholarship. I want to stay involved with the game my whole life and maybe become a coach when I am older. I am a team player when it comes to the game, and I am very vocal on and off the court. I would say that my greatest asset is my leadership and determination. I am always in the gym, whether it's on my own, with my coach, or helping the girls on JV or my teammates. Someone actually refers to me as a "gym rat" because I'm there all the time. If I could live in the gym, I probably would. I am also a very versatile player, as a guard (2 or 3) I am best at finding an open spot and knocking down the shot. As a point guard I'm best at driving in to draw the defense so I can set up my teammates for open shots. When playing down low, I am best at boxing out and rebounding and getting put-backs. Lastly, I love basketball because it's a team sport and it makes everyone work together, also because it's fast pace and something is always happening so you never know what's next.
