I began competitive sports though gymnastics at a young age and shortly after I found basketball. I started playing basketball when I was about eight and have come to love everything from the conditioning to the friendships that this sport has given me. Being homeschooled I’m very thankful that I have had the opportunity to play competitive high school basketball both in Georgia and in Virginia. College basketball has always been something that I have wanted to do and have been working towards. The past two years I have been able to play club basketball, this has improved my ability as an athlete on the court and has given me the opportunity to play more competitively at the high school level. Having a severe learning disability and being rather quiet, basketball has given me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and to take initiative as team captain the last two years.
