Personal Statement
My name is Elizabeth Jones; I currently attend George Wythe High School. It has always been a dream of mine to play collegiate basketball. I think by working hard and believing in yourself you can accomplish anything. That is how I plan to turn my dream into a reality.
The goals I hope to accomplish in college are to become the best student-athlete I can be while representing my school, my family, and my community with integrity, pride, and respect. While I am in college one of my goals is to make the Dean’s List. Also, one of my top priorities is maintaining exceptional grades throughout my college career.
The things that make me a good candidate for your team are my work ethic; I spend the same amount of time on school work as I do basketball, and strive to be the best I can be. I seek out opportunities to learn something new whether it’s on the court or in the classroom.
What makes me different from other players is I am a player that plays for the love of the game rather than for individual stats. I believe in being a team player and that success is more enjoyable when you are able to share it with your teammates. Some of the things I think that make me different from other recruits are my character, I am unselfish, trustworthy, dependable, and responsible. I listen and value the opinions of others, and I never give up no matter what the odds are. In athletics, I strive to be the best I can be and I am always looking for a way to improve on my weaknesses. I believe that grades are very important and without the grades there is no basketball. I work very hard to keep and maintain all A’s.
