Personal Statement
I remember writing something in middle school about being the next "Candace Parker" and playing for the WNBA. I know I'm not going to be playing on that level but I am very passionate about sports. Sleep, eat, breathe sports. I am in volleyball, basketball, and I run track. Each sport is something different for me and gives me a different experience. When people ask me what my favorite sport is, I have a tough time choosing just one. I have reasoning behind each sports and why it would be my favorite, or why I would play that in college if I had the opportunity. Volleyball is just about fun with anyone you play. One good pass leads to a good set up and the kill. Pounding the ball into the ground and getting a kill just pumps me up. I want another and another. It's probably the most fun sports to participate in. Even watching someone else get a good hit gets me excited. Then comes basketball. I've been playing since the 5th grade and remember all the good memories and times leading up to this point. This is a team sport and you almost create a family. You need trust and confidence in eachother. I love feeling a part of something and working together to achieve something like a regional championship or even a state title. Running is tough but when you have good friends around you that push you to keep running, it's worth it. And making it to state was probably one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. I hope to make it again this year. I also hope to play a sport in college and getting a scholarship of some sort would just be icing on the cake. I was born for sports, I love sports, and I love the challenge. I am not ready to give them up just because I'm graduating from high school.
