Hi my name is Elizabeth Kummer but my friends and family call me “Ellie”. I am 5’7” entering my senior year (4 years varsity) and play both point and shooting guard. This year as team captain (third year), my main focus is DEFENSE and being a vocal leader for the team both on and off the court. This has helps our team chemistry as well as game situations. My most valuable asset when it comes to the game is court awareness. I always have my head up so I can see the floor at all times. This allows me to get my teammates involved or know when it’s time to attack. I am a team first player with the ability to score 20 points a game but would rather have 20 assists any day. I possess the ability to create my own shot both off the dribble or spot up shots. I love the step back 3 pointer followed by a fake and then a two-dribble pull up floater. My extreme quickness allows me to get out in transition, push the ball and score in transition; I love run and gun. It also helps me to ball hawk on DEFENSE. I have also developed a knack for drawing charges. During my second varsity year I took 15 charges resulting in me being called “The Charger”. I have a very high basketball IQ which helps me marshal the team making sure everyone is in the right spot. I am always talking on the court and believe that constant communication on both defense and offense is a must. I lead my team in FT% and was tied for 1st in the Wisconsin Valley. I've even been even more efficient in the second half of games, especially the 4th quarter at over 90%.
While I am interested in majoring in Spanish/Science, I am looking for a school and a team that is focused on leadership. I am looking for a team that wants leaders and also builds them. I have a strong work ethic, always give 100% and I want to come in on a team and make an immediate impact my freshman year.
The four years leading up to high school was all about preparing for Varsity. I was our leading scorer all four years for both my club and AAU teams winning the Wisconsin State Championship in both club ball and AAU. Freshman, sophomore, Junior and Senior year are all about getting ready for the next level and finding the right college and team to help earn my college degree.
