To me basketball is more than just a way of getting exercise, although that's great, playing basketball at a competitive level has taught me life skills. For example, working hard at practice has allowed me to develop a strong work ethic, being captain the past 2 years has taught me leadership, and having a slightly new team each year has taught me adaptability. Basketball has had such an impact on me that it has lead my interest of career to Athletic Training so I can help others to stay healthy and hopefully gain a similar experience from their sports the way basketball has for me.
