Hi, I’m Rubey, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce myself and share my journey as an athlete, as well as my academic accomplishments and aspirations for the future! As a multisport athlete, I have been involved in basketball since the third grade and track since the seventh grade. Both sports have shaped me into the versatile competitor I am today. On the basketball court, I excel as a point guard and small forward, utilizing my agility, court vision, and teamwork skills to contribute to my team's success. In track, I participate in the long jump, triple jump, and 300-meter hurdles, constantly pushing my limits and striving for excellence.
My athletic journey has not only fostered my competitive spirit but has also played a significant role in shaping my personality. I’m very coachable, self-driven, and am a team player! Sportsmanship and resilience are also qualities that I hold dear to my heart. On and off the court, I strive to exhibit the utmost sportsmanship, treating my opponents with respect and supporting my teammates through every triumph and setback. This mindset is how I ended up being presented with the sportsmanship award in my freshman year. I’m also a peer helper for Special Olympics at the junior high level and aspire to extend my assistance to the high school level. This experience has taught me the importance of lending a helping hand and the immense joy that comes from making a positive impact on the lives of others.
While I possess numerous strengths, I do acknowledge one area for improvement: my tendency to be a perfectionist. However, this trait stems from my dedication and no-nonsense state of mind. I constantly strive for perfection, not only in my athletic endeavors but also in my academics. Throughout my high school journey, I have maintained a straight A record in all my classes, including advanced placement courses. While I am passionate about basketball and track, my ultimate goal is to become a speech, physical, or occupational therapist for individuals with special needs. I firmly believe in the transformative power of therapy and the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of those facing challenges.
I am truly excited to continue my athletic journey at the collegiate level, and I am particularly interested in exploring the opportunities your team/programs have to offer. I can’t wait to connect with you and discuss how I can contribute to your team's success both on and off the court. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me, I look forward to hearing from you soon!
