Gwen Grigsby '24 Recruiting Profile

Off the court I am very goal oriented and determined, when I put my mind to a task I complete it. I am a strong believer in thinking through all of my decisions and not letting emotions get the best of me. One of the most important things to me is my sense of community, I deeply value making connections with those around me and believe these relationships with others is truly what makes life so meaningful.  I owe nearly all of my successes to the volleyball community of Santa Cruz - those who let me into their groups when I was barely twelve to the AVP players who are now coaching me to get me to a good college program. 

Academic focus and education are  very important to me; right now I have a 4.0 through my sophomore year and I am currently taking all IB classes in my junior year to increase my GPA.   I know how to take on responsibilities and carry a work load. I have been employed since I was 14 years old, and have learned many life skills from my part-time employment. I’m focused on preparing myself for the next step - playing beach volleyball at an academically rigorous school where I can further my education and grow more as a person and a player.
