Personal Statement

My name is Selena Corona and I’m a Junior at Fayetteville High School in Arkansas.

As a varsity and club athlete at Razorback Diving Academy, I’ve been diving for 8 months and I have come a long way.

I competed at AAU Qualifiers, USA Diving Regionals,  now training for AAU Nationals this summer. I’ve placed 1st – 6th at Varsity dive meets, 6th in Conference and qualified for State this first year of diving.

I’m not new to tough mental and physical workouts having been a club gymnast for 9 years (retired at level 8/9) training 24 hr/wk (achieving state/regionals 1st-4th place each year until covid), I swam varsity for 3 years, doing 3.5K+ yards 3x/wk and summer swim league before that for 9 years.

My 1M/3M dive list consist of: 101B,103B, 104C, 105C, 201B, 203C, 301B/C, 302C, 303C, 401B, 403C, 5132D, 5223D, 5231D to name a few.

I am serious about my sport. My coaches call me a “consistent” competitor with great air awareness and I make my coaches’ corrections. I show up, stay focused and don't bring drama.

I plan on studying Criminal Justice/Criminology in college, an interest I developed since practicing Krav Maga (Israeli self-defense ), Jujitsu and boxing. I work as a lifeguard year round and love to travel. I’m active with an animal rescue non profit and I have a side gig on Poshmark.  This is how I balance my life.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me and I hope you consider me for your team.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
