Personal Statement
My collegiate goals and aspirations are as follows: I want to maintain good academic standing throughout my college career. As far as athletics, I want to be an integral part of the Swimming/Diving team that aids in winning meets and ultimately championships. I would be an excellent addition to any program because of my work ethic and being a good team mate. I have always encouraged my teammates and represented my team and school in a manner that exudes pride. What makes me different from other recruits is I understand that doing the right thing is very important whether in public or in private. I have leadership skills that can be displayed verbally and also by my actions. I am also humble enough to follow when necessary because in order to lead I must learn to follow. I come from a family of athletics. My mom competed in track in high school and my father was captain of his state basketball team in Michigan and played Division I basketball. I have a cousin who just accepted a Division I scholarship to throw the javelin. I competed in gymnastics for 10 years and understand how my individual effort and performance contributes greatly to the overall team success. I also come from a family that recognizes the importance of education. My parents are teachers themselves and both sets of grandparents were also educators. I am looking forward to making an impact on the college level athletically, academically, and socially.
