Sanaa Chege '26 Recruiting Profile

I am a sophomore at Seneca Valley High School in Maryland and have been diving since the Fall of 2022. My road to diving wasn't the traditional route, as I joined the team because they had no divers! I had previously done recreational gymnastics for 5+ years when I was younger which led me to do competitive gymnastics for two years. Currently I am on a county dive team for the summer as well as taking classes at Dominion Dive Club in Northern Virginia. Since I started diving in the fall of last year I have been in the pool and/or dryland 3-5 days per week, and I love it! I recently attended a swim/dive camp at Howard University in Washington, DC and went to RipFest Dive Camp in Arcadia, Indiana where I worked on skills, learned new dives and increased my confidence at both places, while being coached by college and Olympic level coaches. I will return to RipFest for another week later this month.

I really enjoy diving and I am passionate about getting better every day! I am a fast learner, very coachable and eager to increase my skills on 1m and 3m. My goal is to compete at the collegiate level and make gains in my personal and my teams' overall performance. Academically, I pride myself in taking honors classes, getting good grades and participating in student clubs. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, singing in a travel choir and being a Girl Scout. I'm currently working on my Girl Scout Gold award, which is the highest award in Girl Scouting- equivalent to a Boy Scout's Eagle award. I enjoy seeing others benefit from the work I do in my community and have put in many hours volunteering at my local Boys and Girls Club. I'm not totally decided about what I want to study in college, but I'm leaning towards Education, as I enjoy teaching others.
