From that very first jump off the springboard three years ago (summer 2015), I knew that diving was THE sport for me and now I am ready to take my diving career to the next level. Going to college AND being a member of their diving team is my ultimate goal.
Prior to taking up the sport of diving I competed in gymnastics and spent numerous hours in the gym developing the strength, coordination and flexibility necessary to always perform at my best. When my journey as a gymnast ended, I decided to take diving lessons. I quickly discovered that my background as a gymnast was quite beneficial in learning the different dive positions and I immediately knew that I had found a new passion. Freshman year I began competing as the diver for my high school swimming & diving team. I feel honored to have qualified to represent my school and District 10 at three PA State Diving Championships (2016, 2017 and 2018).
My biggest thrill in diving comes from working hard and seeing that work pay off. That's why each year I travel from Pennsylvania to Missouri so I can train all summer long with the club team members of Clayton Diving Alliance. Since diving is my #1 sport, I use this opportunity to perfect my 1-meter skills and also to work dives on the 3-meter boards. I also spend a week of training at RipFest Diving Camp in Indiana. The RipFest coaches push me beyond my comfort zone by encouraging me to "take it up" to the 3m springboard and 5m platform.
Diving has taught me the values of hard work, perseverance, and the art of conquering fears. I want to compete in college and I hope to find a collegiate diving program where I can continue to improve my skills and be the BEST student-athlete that I can be!
