Personal Statement
I have lived in the Houston area of Texas my whole life. I started diving at 10 years old and adored the feeling of getting a new dive or the feeling of accomplishment when finally making a difficult correction, and those feelings contributed to my love of the sport. I dive for my high school, The Woodlands College Park High School, and for my club team, Big Cat Diving.
I have participated in Destination Imagination, a creative problem-solving challenge, with the same core group of girls since I was in 4th grade and we have competed in the Global Final tournament 5 times. In more recent years, I have also joined HOSA, the health science UIL group at my school and have become very invested in that as well. I am currently running for a position as a HOSA officer.
Juggling long practice hours and numerous extracurriculars while also maintaining a perfect GPA in honors and AP level classes, I’ve learned the value of hard work, determination and have had to learn to work quickly and efficiently both in school and in extracurriculars. I pride myself on being a teachable athlete and student, and I would be a wonderful addition to any collegiate team.
I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically and have rigorous coursework, but also a place where I can continue to grow as a diver and can be a valuable member of the diving team.
