My name is Isabella Zavala, I am a currently a Senior at Royal High School in Simi Valley, California. I have played golf with my school's varsity team for the last four years. https://www.simivalleyacorn.com/articles/the-big-six-highlanders-elevate-team/In 2017, I was named most improved for the Varsity team since my consistency on the course improved greatly. This season I was still consistent for my team, I averaged 45, with my best score being a 41. My team won League Championship in the 2016 season. This 2018 season we earned 2nd place in the competitive Coastal Canyon League. Besides the on-course work I put in, my school's team has a brand new golf simulator that I practice on daily in the spring. Due to an old softball injury, I recently had shoulder surgery after the season was over. As the season continued, my short game improved, and I can't wait to get back on the course in the next few months. I would love to play golf in college. I fell in love with the sport as a freshman, and my love for the sport continues to grow.
In my spare time I love to volunteer. I recently completed my Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a girl scout can earn, by helping the local hospital with care bags for the patients. https://www.simivalleyacorn.com/articles/teen-brings-comfort-to-kids-in-er/
