Personal Statement
Compared to most girls trying to get recruited, I am at a disadvantage. I picked up golf only a year ago but to explain the dedication I have, within this year I have made the varsity team and placed top 12 at the league finals. No matter how tired I am or however early it is, you will most likely find me practicing. Spending from 5 to 7 hours daily while also going out and playing at least twice a week. Prior to picking up golf, I competed in and practiced rhythmic gymnastics for 5 hours every single day and absolutely loved the sport. Unfortunately, I encountered a health injury preventing me from being able to continue in sports that were heavily stressed on my foot/ankle. However, because of my injury, I found a sport that I am even more passionate about!
Even though these times where some courses and ranges were closed, I still practiced and worked on my strength and power. I know I lack experience from most people, but I love golf and if I could spend every waking hour playing golf, I would. I also know how to manage my time and academics since I have been exposed to sports like soccer and rhythmic gymnastics where some times I would compete out of state and miss school. I am also a team player but I also know how to focus as an individual. A dream and goal that I hope to someday accomplish would be making the LPGA and tour around and meet new people all through this eye-opening sport of golf.
