Hello,
My name is Courtney Maroney. I was an avid runner on the track and cross country teams. I even ran 2 and 1/2 marathons. Mid-year I injured my right knee. I went through intense therapy and was determined to get back to running. I loved the mindset of running. To my dismay, I can only run short distances now. I have always loved golf too since the day my dad signed me up for The First Tee when I was in grade school. I have always thought that golf and running are very mental sports. After I recovered I decided to focus solely on my game. My golf game is continually growing. My personal best is a 79. I am a very outgoing and energetic person. I feel that helps me stay motivated in everything I do. I have a very strong Christian faith. I don't think I would be where I am in life without that. I have overcome many obstacles including being dyslexic. I think that the more obstacles we have to overcome the stronger we become. There are several professional athletes that have overcome dyslexia and injuries. I truly admire them. They help me see that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it and give it 100%. I look forward to college. I want to become a nutritionist. I would like to help athletes become healthier better athletes by simply adjusting their diets. I want to minor in health science. This field really interests me.
