Personal Statement
Hello Coach,
My name is Annabelle Flores. I have been playing golf since I was four years old. I have always dreamt of being able to play college golf. The fall of 2021 gave me that goal when I played my first season here at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. Before playing here, I played all four high school years at the varsity level and qualified for state. In the summertime, I play in the Pikes Peak Junior golf tournaments in my hometown of Colorado Springs. This past summer, I made history as the first female to make it to the final round of the Pikes Peak Amature. I have intentions of returning in the summer of 2023 to make it back to the final round and win it. With my dad's help, I achieved a new personal best of 82 this past summer. While I have three seasons of college golf under my belt, I have also managed my grades. Curently I hold a GPA of 2.99; I hope to achieve a 3.5 by the time I graduate this upcoming May with my associate of arts with an emphasis in criminal justice.
The next step in my college career I want to have to happen at a tremendous four-year college that fits with me and can help me grow as a person and a golfer. I have been on many great teams throughout my golf career. I hope to join a team that feels more like family, not a team, as I have dealt with the team that singled me out as a freshman and didn't want to work together to improve the team. As the team captain here at Northeastern Junior College, I value a team differently.
